Wearing a skirt resembling a sack wouldn't do many people any favours - that is of course, unless you're Jessica Biel. The Illusionist actress looked super stylish in a plain black wrap and grey sweater, by following the simple rule of 'less is more'. She also opted for a basic pale grey sweater, seizing the opportunity to inject some flavour with large orange shades and a heavy new fringe.

Jessica, 29, took time out of her busy schedule to catch up with friend and former 7th Heaven co-star Beverley Mitchell. The pair have known each other for 16 years, having met on the US sitcom back in 1996 playing sisters Lucy and Mary Camden.

They chatted away in high spirits, looking happy as they gossiped together and greeted each other with a hug - showing off Biel's backless sweater. There was a touch of Angelina Jolie to the brunette beauty, with her tall slender frame, dainty features and bee-stung lips reminiscent of the Salt actress. She also sported a pair of flat Espadrille shoes, not needing to add any extra inched to her already tall stature of 5ft 8in.

Jessica is currently shooting rather unusually titled film Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes, alongside Skins rising star Kaya Scodelario. The movie follows a troubled young woman who becomes obsessed with her neighbour, who bears a striking resemblance to the girl's dead mother. She is also due to start filming The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea with Kick-Ass teenager Chloe Moretz. Despite reports she is set to wed Justin Timberlake, her boyfriend of five years, Jessica is still not sporting an engagement ring.

Jessica Biel--reportedly betrothed to Justin Timberlake--has been spotted numerous times recently sans an engagement ring. She didn't even wear it to the Golden Globes. What's the real reason behind her not wearing Justin's ring?

According to a report from Hollywood Life, just leave it to Aaron Carter to have--and share--the real scoop! Their reporters interviewed Aaron on Wednesday at the premiere of his film Haywire--and he was happy to divulge some details. It seems that Jessica and Justin are most definitely engaged. However Justin had something very special in mind for an engagement ring. "... he asked her to marry him and he ordered a special ring that's not ready yet," Aaron Carter says.

So why would Aaron Carter be the least bit privy to information about Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel? Aside from the fact that Aaron's manager has been Justin's manager--no one really knows! It does sound like Justin shared word of the exquisite ring with his own grandmother, too, but she was sworn to silence. She was recently interviewed by Wendy Williams, but that is absolutely all she would share.

It certainly sounds like Jessica Biel will be receiving one heck of an impressive engagement ring when it's ready for Justin Timberlake to pick it up and slip in on her finger. Do you think it will be a diamond ring or is Jessica the type who would prefer another gem instead?

Perhaps it didn't look right next to all her other bling? Jessica Biel was highly bejeweled at Sunday's Golden Globes, but one notable adornment was missing – her engagement ring from fiancé Justin Timberlake.

The actress, 29, was sporting a load of Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including a stitches diamond ring in platinum and 18-karat yellow gold (designed by Jean Schlumberger, worth $25,000), as well as five diamond metro band rings set in 18-karat yellow gold (worth $1,900 each). But her left ring finger was bare, with no sign of the custom-designed ring that Timberlake, 30, reportedly proposed with in Montana.

Biel also dazzled with two other notable Tiffany pieces – round solitaire diamond stud earrings set in platinum, 6.12 karats (worth $243,000), and a round diamond daisy opera length necklace set in platinum (worn down her back and worth $135,000).

There's no doubt that Justin Timberlake's new fiancée looks absolutely ravishing on the  2012 Golden Globes carpet (and we're digging the darker 'do), but we can't help but notice something especially shining is missing from her ensemble.

Where is Jessica Biel's diamond ring?!

Sure, call us impatient, but we're really starting to wonder. Biel traipsed the red carpet today looking beautiful in a long-sleeved gown, but clearly had no engagement ring (or any other bauble) on her left hand. She was wearing some sparklers from Tiffany on her other hand, however. And it's already night two that this has happened. Last night, Jess hit the red carpet solo for the W Magazine Best Performances Issue and Golden Globe Awards celebration at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood without a ring, but we were kinda hoping she was waiting to debut it tonight. Guess we were wrong. Maybe it's getting resized?

The future Mrs. Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back -- and then some! Hitting Friday's W Magazine Golden Globes bash at the famed Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood -- her first red carpet appearance since her top-secret engagement to Timberlake -- Jessica Biel proved once and for all why she's a keeper.

The stunning New Year's Eve actress, 29, provoked mass chaos on the red carpet in a skin-tight gold dress by Oscar de la Renta, her hair still a dark shade of brown. (The ultra-private actress declined to wear her engagement ring at the party.) Also turning heads at the bash?

Elizabeth Olsen, Jessica Chastain, Kirsten Dunst, Charlize Theron, Miranda Kerr and hubby Orlando Bloom, Rachel Zoe, Emma Stone, Octavia Spencer, Liev Schreiber, Camilla Alves (but no Matthew McConnaughey)...and Lindsay Lohan.

With her hubby-to-be Timberlake, 31, nowhere to be found, Biel was sweet and gracious -- but nervous -- greeting photographers, pals and well-wishers on the red carpet. The star introduced herself to folks as "Jessie," not Jessica, and gabbed with one pal about her planned dress for Sunday's Golden Globe awards, even showing pics on her cell phone of the frock.

Biel (who accepted Timberlake's proposal during a romantic ski vacation in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in late December) even proved to be a good sport -- opting to climb six flights of stairs to Chateau's penthouse after the elevator traffic got backed up.

For his part, Timberlake (with a new full beard) made his first post-engagement appearance last week at CES in Las Vegas for a MySpace TV presentation. The singer-actor has "never been happier" with Biel, an insider told Us Weekly. "He knew it was the right time to propose."

Can Jessica Biel trust Justin Timberlake? That is the simple question posed by a celebrity gossip tabloid who tried to paint him as a cheater even though no credible evidence ever existed that he was. After breakups and makeups, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got engaged over the holidays. The couple of four and a half years will soon make it official!

While the notoriously private pair never flaunts or discusses their relationship, there was never any indication that JT stepped out on his girl. Yet we get this: Seriously, why does Us Weekly hate Justin Timberlake of all people?

Is it a personal grudge? Even IF he cheated on Jess, which they really want you to believe, but is likely untrue, they got back together and got engaged. Even in that alternate universe, they would have patched things up and moved on, happily. There would likely not be "an ultimatum" before he proposed.

Last week, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel announced their engagement, and now, Us Weekly is questioning whether or not she can trust the singer-turned-actor. Once a cheater, always a cheater,. right? Underneath their question, the text reads, “It took a bitter breakup and Jessica’s ultimatum before.

“I was never one of those girls who dreamed of my wedding and my Prince Charming,” says the 29-year-old Valentine’s Day star. “To p*** off my mom, I used to say, ‘I’m never having kids and I’m going to be a fabulously rich old maid living in a house with cute butlers and dogs’.”Although Jessica refuses to talk about her relationship with Justin, whom she has dated on and off for five years, she does say she was never looking to date someone famous. “I think those [actors] are the people you meet and so it just kind of happens,” she says. “Let me tell you, it never happens on purpose.”

Is Jessica Biel in a hurry to have kids? According to at least one report, the sexy 29-year-old actress is not there, at least not yet. Jessica Biel, who is currently dating Justin Timberlake, was actually pretty candid recently about having children. With so many Hollywood types having children without or before getting married these days (Jessica Simpson, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Kourtney Kardashian) it seems to be a logical question to ask Jessica. This is what she had to say on the matter:

Goodness, at this point Jessica Biel is not even looking to settle down and get married. She does not like to talk about her relationship with Justin Timberlake. This is somehow refreshing. While some people seem to get into a relationship for P.R. purposes (Kim Kardashian, anyone?), Jessica claims to not be one of "those" people with Justin.

Surely, Jessica will let the world know when she is ready for marriage and kids and will not let the public dictate how she will run her life. It is nice to see at least one Hollywood actress who does not just do stuff to "be seen" or "grab headlines."

Fresh off her bust of a New Year's Jessica Eve, Biel is in talks to go in a new direction with her post "Seventh Heaven" career. The actress has her sights set on Fancesca Gregorini's "Emanuel And The Truth About Fishes."

According to Variety, Biel is in talks to play Linda, a mother so torn apart by the death of her baby that she cares for a doll as if it's her child. Kaya Scodelaria is set to star opposite Biel as Emanuel, playing a troubled 17-year-old girl who loves "babysitting" Linda's doll because Linda looks exactly like her dead mother.

Biel already has a busy 2012 on the books. She's already filmed "Nailed," a David O. Russell-directed feature that co-stars Jake Gyllenhaal and James Marsden; "The Tall Man," a Pascal Laugier-directed thriller; "Playing The Field," a romantic dramedy with Gerard Butler; and "Total Recall," remake of the 1990 sci-fi film.

She's also on board to star in "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea," a drama with Chloë Moretz and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Gregorini,who directed Rooney Mara in "Tanner Hall," originally wanted Mara to play the title role, but the "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" star had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.
